Project Vision
The desk needed to monitor thousands of NSE/BSE tickers simultaneously for 5-year-high breakouts without UI lag, while working within broker API rate limits and managing multi-client positions with different entry prices, sizes, and stop-losses.
Technical Friction
Monitoring 3,000+ tickers for 5-year-high breakouts without UI lag or memory issues, working around broker historical-data limits such as Kite Connect's 3 req/sec cap that caused charting throttling, and balancing WebSocket tick processing, asynchronous charting, and Qt main-thread rendering all had to happen concurrently without blocking the interface.
Hybrid Real-Time Data Architecture with Token-Bucket Throttling
Goolluck Consulting LLP separated live tick ingestion from historical data via daily pre-computed 5-year-high caches and TradingView feeds, combining a PyQt5 GUI with Twisted Reactor networking and background ChartFetchWorker threads, governed by a token-bucket subscription manager that caps WebSocket usage at broker limits while prioritizing active holdings.
